There are two churches in our parish: St. Joseph's Church in Springhill and St. Michael's Church in Upper Glanmire.
St. Joseph's Church in Springhill is the parish church and was dedicated in 1837. The church is located not far form the banks of the Glashaboy river which was used in earlier times as a power source for milling.
Both churches in the parish are built on or near the sites of pre-penal times churches. The second church is in the area known as Upper Glanmire, where St. Michael's Church was dedicated and reopened for worship in 1808 following major restructuring – the same year as the Cathedral in Cork was dedicated.
