Funding the painting of the Church

Liam Cotter & Sons, Painters have painted St Joseph’s Church and the presbytery. In addition, there were upgrades to the lighting and ventilation within the Church.

The total cost, ex-VAT is €73,500. This will necessitate some fundraising. From 15-May, there will be a regular 2nd collection to help with paying for this work. This 2nd collection will occur each Sunday when there isn’t another 2nd collection. There also will not be a collection around the church on the Sundays St Vincent de Paul’s collection is taken up at the church door. This collection will continue until we have paid for the work. There will also be envelopes available at the Church and the parish office. Please take an envelope and make a donation for the Church painting as a family or community group. Donations via the envelopes will be eligible for a tax refund, thus increasing the value to the parish of the donation.

Please note you are not expected to contribute twice, if you wish to use the envelopes, you are not expected to also put something into the basket as it goes around.

There have been much positive feedback on the painting and this work has restored our lovely Church to its former beauty and elegance with the lighting and ventilation works will help sustain this.
