International Eucharistic Congress

February 9, 2012

Dublin is the venue for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress (IEC). Should you wish to attend the congress you may book on line www.iec2012.ie The programme from 10th to 16th inclusive will be held at the RDS. The final event will be in Croke Park on Sunday 17th June, starting at 2.00 pm. If you attend three or more days at the RDS you will be entitled to a ticket for the closing ceremony on 17th. However, if you only wish to attend the closing ceremony a limited number of tickets is available from the parish. 40 tickets will be allocated to Glanmire. To apply for one of these tickets go to the Pastoral Meeting Room (or the sacristy in the case of St Michael’s) this weekend where members of the Parish Assembly will be available to distribute the booking forms. To book a ticket fill in this form, attach €10 and return to the Parish Assembly organizers either this weekend or next weekend. Booking a ticket does not guarantee a ticket. Presuming that demand will exceed the number of allocated tickets, a draw will take place after next week to choose the forty people who will receive tickets when they become available in May. But to enter the draw you need to fill in the booking form and accompany it with €10 which will be refunded to those who do not receive a ticket. People attending three or more days at the RDS should not seek to book tickets for the final mass in this way as they will get them from the Dublin office of the IEC. Best of luck.
