Lenten Talk #1 : Welcoming God into our families

Tuesday 27th February Welcoming God into our families, encountering Jesus in the ups and downs of family life this lent and using the Holy Family of Nazareth as our model.

Thanks to Lorna, Marie and Sean for leading this talk.

On arrival the World Meeting of Families hymn was playing.

Sean opened the talk with the World Meeting of Fmailies prayer and continued by explaining the background to the World Meeting of Families and the choosing of Ireland as the host nation for 2018.

Lorna followed with a very interesting and educational talk on icons and symbology on icons, pointing out examples on the World Meeting of Families icon.

Marie read a gospel pertaining to Jesus and the “Bread of Life”.

We then divided up into groups and discussed the reading and what we learned from it and if we are all missing Jesus’ signs due to busyness of life.  This was followed by a full group discussion, facilitated by Lorna,  on the same.

Marie led the closing prayer followed by Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be
