Glanmire Parish, County Cork, Ireland - part of the Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross.

Altar Society

The altar society provides flowers to the sanctuary space in the church. In addition, they provide flowers for the annual mass at Rathcooney cemetery.

They work with other parishioners to build the altar of repose for Holy Thursday.

With the sacristan, they create the Advent wreaths. With help from other parishioners, they decorate the church for Christmas

The members of the altar society are  Sheila Deveraux (Chair), Helen O Canainn (Secretary),  Thérèse Downey (Treasurer) Rose Buckley, Attrachta Burns and Helen Thornhill.
