Feastday of St Joseph the Worker

May 1st is the feast of  St. Joseph the Worker. He was a carpenter who worked hard to support Mary and Jesus.

Prayer to St Joseph,the Worker

Dear Jesus, we thank You for giving us Your foster father, St. Joseph, as an example of a holy worker.

Help us to imitate all of his virtues, particularly his humble spirit of diligence in work.
St. Joseph, you worked hard as a carpenter for many years.
You supported yourself and your family through this work.
Many in our world today face difficulties in their work or in their search for a job that can support them.
Please bring our prayers for employment before God, and pray today especially that all employers may be just and compassionate towards those who work for them.
Pray that we may always strive for holiness and virtue in our lives.
Help us through your prayers to grow closer to God each day, even in the midst of difficulties.
